Caught by the Storm, 2009. The original photo is of a freak snowstorm that hit Raleigh, North Carolina, in the 1930's. First the picture was colour tinted in Photoshop to test the effect of the colour palette. In the final picture, the group of ladies has been reduced to three from four for greater clarity.

Heading Home, 2008. This is the painting that launched Dave Rheaume's winter evening series, which to this day is his most popular. Again, the time of day has been changed to evening, the signage simplified, and additonal foreground elements added.
